For a long time, I believed affiliate marketing was simply about promoting products — finding something popular, posting a link, and hoping someone clicked. And like many beginners, I made the mistake of sharing items that didn’t truly interest me or reflect my life. I promoted things I didn’t use, didn’t connect with, and honestly couldn’t speak about with any real passion.
It didn’t feel genuine. It didn’t feel like me. And it definitely didn’t feel like the kind of content that could help anyone.
After stepping away for a while, I realized something important: affiliate marketing isn’t about selling. It’s about serving. It’s about sharing tools, resources, and products that genuinely support the people you care about — and doing it in a way that reflects your lived experience.
So I’m rebuilding my affiliate journey with intention, authenticity, and purpose.
Why My Experience Matters in What I Promote
I’m an educator — and that shapes everything.
As a Special Education teacher, I’ve spent years helping children learn, grow, and overcome challenges. I’ve sat in IEP meetings, supported families through difficult decisions, and created strategies that help kids thrive at home and in the classroom.
That experience gives me a unique perspective on educational products. I know what works. I know what’s developmentally appropriate. I know what parents actually need — not what companies say they need.
So when I recommend learning tools, websites, or resources, it’s because I’ve seen their impact firsthand. It’s because I understand how they support real children and real families. And it’s because I want parents to feel empowered, not overwhelmed.
My Culture Matters in What I Promote
I’m an African‑American woman — and my heritage inspires me.
Representation matters. Creativity matters. Cultural pride matters.
For years, I’ve loved African‑American art, home décor, and products that celebrate our history and identity. These aren’t just items — they’re reflections of who we are. They bring beauty, meaning, and connection into our homes.
Promoting Black-owned brands and Afrocentric products isn’t a marketing strategy for me. It’s personal. It’s cultural. It’s a way to uplift creators whose work deserves to be seen and celebrated.
My Life as a Single Mother Matters in What I Promote
I’m a single mom — and I know the challenges firsthand.
The exhaustion. The juggling. The moments of doubt. The need for encouragement, structure, and emotional support.
I want to share products that help single mothers feel capable, organized, and inspired — whether it’s a journal that supports self-reflection, a planner that brings order to chaos, or a book that reminds them they’re not alone.
My recommendations come from lived experience, not guesswork.
Why This New Direction Matters
I’m not here to promote random products. I’m here to share tools that align with my identity, my values, and my purpose.
If you’re starting your own affiliate journey, I want you to learn from my early mistakes:
Don’t promote what’s popular — promote what’s personal. Don’t chase trends — chase authenticity. Don’t sell — serve.
When your content reflects your real life, your real passions, and your real experiences, people feel it. They trust it. And they connect with it.
This new chapter is about building a community, not just a platform. It’s about helping parents, uplifting women, celebrating culture, and sharing resources that truly matter.
I’m excited to grow with you — and I’m grateful you’re here as I begin again with purpose.
